JESUS KNOWS
Every deep dark secret
buried in our minds and hearts,
our every imperfection
Jesus knows each piercing dart.
Each time we show compassion
kindness, generosity,
or lend an ear to pain and sorrow
Jesus knows–smiles tenderly.
When our hearts are broken
by someone’s careless word or deed,
that takes away our confidence
Jesus knows our every need.
So many tears are falling
not one heart is left unscathed,
some turn away, ask not for help
Jesus knows they can be saved.
If only we would love Him
and take our sweet repose,
in His precious Sacred Heart
all His children, Jesus knows.

TO KNOW HIM MORE
Sitting in my rocking chair
as back and forth I go,
I reach down deep, within my heart
my wounds and tears I show.
To Jesus, ‘oft forgotten
in all our busy days,
He waits for us to ask for help
to give Him thanks and praise.
For His blessings are uncountable
His ways are not our own,
we find it hard to follow Him
to sin and darkness we are prone.
Help me learn about You Jesus
as much as any human can,
I long to know about the love
that sent You, God made man.
The more I learn about You
the greater my desire,
to be engulfed forevermore
with Your saving, loving fire.

LIFE SOURCE
God’s river of love does gently flow
from Him through you and me,
it carries us with purpose
to where He wants us to be.
But, we sometimes see, upon the shore
delights that tempt and taunt,
when savoured, leave a bitter taste
hearts and minds the deeds do haunt.
When we stray, far from the flow
and want to turn the tide,
Satan whispers vicious lies
he wants us on his side.
Go back to the river
the truth, the peace, the source,
of all that’s needed in our lives
let the river run its course.

THE HUMBLE STABLE
Rejoice! rejoice!
be of good cheer,
our loving Saviour
is very near.
The world, it waits
in anticipation,
the Glorias of angels
announcing peace to all nations.
The stable is still
the manger awaits,
a humble abode
in a tumble down state.
Joseph and Mary
so tired and worn,
found no place but this
for The Child to be born.
So they did what they could
with what little they had,
never complaining
their hearts were so glad.
Joseph gave her what comfort
his love could provide,
he prayed and waited
not far from her side.
Soon the stable was filled
with heavenly light,
and enveloped sweet Mary
in ecstasy, from his sight.
Oh, the joy and the peace
and the light it did pour,
from out the poor stable
through the cracks and the floor.
And lo, there’s the virgin
in her arms holding tight,
the precious wee Christ Child
to turn darkness to light.
To this day the Hosannahs
reverberate still,
the Good News ever echoing
and all men’s hearts thrill.

SING MY SOUL
Oh my soul, lift up your voice
with notes I cannot raise,
sing my song to Jesus
my song of love and praise.
When waves of love wash o’er me
the longings do increase,
to praise You my Lord Jesus
with words that never cease.
No words, spoken by me
could ever be compared,
to the song of love my soul sings
ever constant, nothing spared.
Give my all, oh soul of mine
every moment of each day,
to my one and only Jesus
my Light, my Love, my Way.

GOD’S GIFT TO ANNE AND JOACHIM
For years her womb, unfruitful
longed to feel the joy of life
arms ached to hold a baby
God’s gift to man and wife.
And tho’ it seemed their fervent prayers
would never be fulfilled,
in the Temple anew, they asked the grace
faith and hope within them still.
The Lord God saw the virtues
that filled the aging pair,
and granted so much more to them
a gift beyond compare.
Her womb, held the new hope
to be given unto men,
the purest, sweetest virgin
to be born without a sin.
Their prayers were answered even more
than they could have ever dreamed,
she would give birth to the woman
who would become all heaven’s Queen.

MORNING SONG
The morn in peaceful silence greets
the still and empty nearby streets,
in the East, the warming, golden rays
probe the dark, outpours a bright new day.
Creation wakens with a thrill
sun chasing shadows down the hill,
woolly lambs drift softly by
grazing in their pastures, in the sky.
Be still and listen to the throb
the love, of The Almighty God,
He tells us that He’s always there
in His daily blessings, that we share.
Each moment is another verse
a song of love forever, to disperse,
the glories of the Master’s Hand
countless as the grains of sand.
