FLOWERS OF THE FIELD
We are little flowers of the Lord
growing down close to the earth,
His Holy Hand reached down one day
new life planted to give birth.
Some grew in sheltered places
untouched by wind, uncrushed by foot,
in pots protected from life’s storms
from dust and raining soot.
They know not of the harsh winds
of the torrent or the flood,
they’re never pounded to the ground
with their beauty in the mud.
The little flowers of the field
kissed by sun, caressed by wind,
made strong by living in His Grace
sturdy in their root and stem.
They delighted once a special child
who picked a sweet bouquet,
and gave it to His mother
whom He loved a perfect way.
In fear one day they trembled
where they grew along the way,
of this same child grown and suffering
for the sins of man to pay.
How they longed to ease His pain
with their beauty and perfume,
but were fastened tightly to the earth
silenced by their fear and gloom.
If they could only gather
at the cross upon the hill,
perfumed cups to catch his precious blood
hearts and souls to drink their fill.
The one thing we can do for Him
be the best that we can be,
give all our beauty and perfume
bloom just for Him eternally.

THE WAY OF MERCY
From the garden to the hill
a trail of blood His life did spill,
with shouts and stones He trudged along
bruised and battered by the throng.
Betrayed by one who shared His bread
others took to heel and fled,
that he knew Him, one denied
then in sorrow went to hide.
In mockery and scorn they crowned
the Son of God, the Love profound,
they spit and cursed and brutally tore
His garments sealed to every sore.
Oh my wounded, dying Jesus gaze
down from the Cross, upon the fray,
to those who unbeknown to them
have nailed You there with hurtful sin.
To the Son of God no mercy shown
the One who was for mercy known,
we repent in sorrow, ask to forgive
that we, with Him, forever live.

UNTIL WE MEET
My heart in fear and trembling
does entreat Thee, Oh my Lord,
to ever stay close by my side
every torrent help me ford.
My soul does pine to finally know
the fullness of Your Love,
to have You hold me to Your breast
and never let me go, sweet Love.
The earthly ties that bind me
the senses of the flesh,
keep me from rising higher
and once again, I start afresh.
But as long as I keep trying
and not give in to defeat,
each moment I mount higher
till at last the day we meet.
All the pain and struggles
the weeping will then cease,
You’ll wipe the tears from out my eyes
and I’ll know Your love and peace.

GENTLE PERSUASION
Do you hear His precious voice
calling just outside the door,
of your weak and lonely hearts
let Me in He does implore.
He wants to give you all His love
His peace, His strength and joy,
to wash you in His cleansing blood
all His blessings to enjoy.
Sometimes we feel, He can’t mean me
my sin is much too great,
I’m unworthy, so unworthy
I’ve lived too long with hate.
No matter, how great is the sin
when in sorrow you repent,
He forgives with joy, and then forgets
the price for it He spent.
Long ago He took the burden
of our sins upon the cross,
and with His last and painful breath
He saved us from being lost.
Fear not, when you hear His call
welcome Him with open arms,
His loving presence there within you
will guard you from all harm.
There will still be times of sorrow
of grief and fear, it’s true,
with the joy of Jesus in your heart
He will always see you through.
His love will slowly change you
lapping gently at each sore,
erasing jagged edges
you’ll be His forevermore.

TAKE HEART
Take heart when times are troubled
and there seems no way to turn,
I am with you now and always
and know your every fear, concern.
I know you try to heed Me
when I say to you, fear not,
but your humanness is very weak
and your soul’s long since forgot..
The Kingdom where, from whence you came
where faith and light abound,
when once you lived and shared with Me
in Triune Love profound.
But if you listen closely
with open hearts, I’m beckoning,
reach out your every fibre
to My Sacred Heart do cling.

HEARTS AFIRE
The season’s one of dryness
our hearts, arid and parched,
the stubborn regions of our thoughts
stiff to change, as to be starched.
The hot winds of a world astray
blow searing over feeble stems,
grown dry without the waters
that flow faithfully from Him.
Oh touch Your burning heart of love
to the tender we’ve become,
set all our hearts afire
burn tare and nettles every one.
With Your mighty Spirit wind
fan the flames to mount them higher,
then on the cleansed and fertile ground
plant the seed of new desire.
A harvest for Almighty God
a bouquet for The Spouse,
with all our hearts afire
when He calls us to His House.

BREAK FREE
Violence and wars abound
o’er all the earth today,
in turmoil and confusion
man is blind, finds not the way.
To break free from the hatred
that fills the hearts of men,
who fumble in the darkness
for there is no light within.
Their thirst, it is unquenchable
for something they know not,
they follow voices of the world
entranced by another’s plot.
The chains that bind them, can be broken
their eyes be made to see,
their ears to hear only His truths
with Jesus’ love they can break free.
For it’s not complicated
to follow Jesus’ plan,
have faith, and give to Him your all
break free and take His hand.
