LIFT JESUS UP
We lift You up sweet Jesus
in prayer, in psalm and hymn,
and spread the story of Your love
that You died to save all men.
From the spark of the beginning
Your coming was foretold,
and step by step the stage was set
events of glory to unfold.
In obedience and humbleness
the Virgin did comply,
to the will of God the Father
on her He could rely.
You came, You lived, You died, You rose
showing us how we should live,
with Your love, to love each other
all our lives to You to give.
Two thousand years have come and gone
and lo all men forget,
t’was You who made all possible
on earthly things our eyes are set.
So we raise our arms and voices
that all mankind will know,
Your message is as true today
as it was so long ago.

A CHILD’S LONGING
Father I reach up to You
I long to know Your Love,
to be like a child, all eager
to live in Your home above.
One day to dance around Your Throne
with joy and laughter peeling,
laying pure and fragrant flowers
at Your feet upon our meeting.
I will see sweet Jesus face to face
He will smile and beckon me,
into His tender arms of love
Your Love Oh God, I’ll see.
In heaven’s golden meadows
where the Spirit e’er will blow,
we’ll walk in peace and harmony
as one, Your Love to ever know.

LEGACY OF LOVE
From the time of my first memories
there is one thing that I knew,
we were loved by you, dear mother
and in that love we grew.
You gave your every moment
to our each and every need,
from dawn to dusk, long into night
souls and bodies you did feed.
When in times of pain and illness
in and out of fevered fog,
you were our healing angel
sweet messenger from God.
We always felt your presence
for you were ever there,
when we misbehaved t’was certain
we’d be chastised, quick but fair.
As time passed, the ills of aging
gave you days of misery,
but you persevered, walked onward
with Jesus, on to Calvary.
But now your Mass has ended
God has called you from above,
we thank you, mother dearest
for your Legacy of Love.

YOUR VIOLIN
In Your love oh God You made me
an instrument so fine,
alone I make no music
I need Your bow divine.
As You touch my strings with love
my first notes weak, unsure,
my strings in need of tuning
my melody as yet obscure.
With patience You continue
to bring out the best in me,
tenderly keeping careful watch
from impure notes, You set me free.
My melodies are ever growing
richer, sweeter, more sublime,
my desire, pining ever
to unite my song to Thine.
The day will come when finally
You draw Your bow divine,
and the song I play forever
to eternity will climb.
Then You will bid me ever play
my love song, perfect, true,
with joy I’ll ever praise You God
for making me, for You.

JUST A PRAYER AWAY
My strayed ones, slipping, sliding
falling down they further go,
away from all My love and warmth
to other gods their homage show.
How My heart does break and bleed
if only they could know,
that I am near, so very near
love and mercy’s here to flow.
But the clamour of this darkened world
blinds all to their true need,
ever wanting more and more
satisfied with nothing, feed their greed.
It’s so simple , all My children
turn around and walk My way,
I am close and watching over you
I am just a prayer away.

THE DAY OF THE LORD
The day is fast approaching
soon His army will lay waste,
burning all that’s weed and stubble
blanched will be every face.
The Lor will lead on His mighty steed
no one knows the time or day,
the earth will shake and tremble
darkness will hold the light at bay.
Who can bear that day so terrible
as His justice comes to pass,
it’s not too late for us to change
make amends, repent and fast.
For the Lord is slow to anger
rich in kindness, will relent,
if we change our hardened hearts
ask forgiveness, and repent.

THE GIFT OF AN ANGEL
From out the depths of misery
a heart all bruised, in pain,
confused and in a maze of fog
darkness had come to reign.
The Lord saw my predicament
the Lord He saw my pain,
the Lord knew what I needed
to put me on my feet again.
He sent to me an angel
with eyes that spoke His love,
with lips that spoke compassion
and arms that heal and hug.
He knew I had to vent my pain
on an understanding ear,
make me realize His presence
at all times, He’s ever near.
Deep down I always knew it
but had let my cares become,
a burden too immense to handle
they’d blocked out the very Son.
Thank You God for being there
though at times I couldn’t see,
I thank You for that special day
You sent an angel to help me.
