WINTER LACE
VYour every living creature
has felt Thy mighty hand,
for in the night, You decorated
with lacy snow, across the land.
Each creature, a new masterpiece
light shortened days become more bright,
from Fall scenes, of greyish drabness
to a pure and wondrous sight.
All You’ve made, delights the eye
homes are frosted with new snow,
the trees, with beauty laden
in thanks to You, bow low.
On the hedge so lightly hung
are many cotton balls,
across the cold and windy fields
blue jay and cardinal calls.
The Lord has wrapped an ermine cape
around His creatures with His Grace,
and edged all of His creation
with the finest Winter lace.
