RENDEZVOUS

In the early morning hour
You woke me Lord so You could shower,
my eyes, my ears, my very being
with the glories of Your Hand for seeing.

The street lights, their nights work was done
with the rising of Your lamp, the sun,
that in the East was all aglow
it’s blushing not unlike a rose.

Before it peeked above the rim
its beauty to be born for Him,
its glory ,melted, purest gold
the horizon gilded, oh behold....

The gift that is a crisp new day
pristine and pure, one moment stay,
afraid to blink and change the scene
to make perfection last, is but a dream.

The moments pass, Your day unfolds
Your peoples hearts, lukewarm and cold,
go scurrying , as in a race
unseeing of Your boundless grace.

Missed miracles and memories
the sights, the smells, gone....history,
backs turned on hands that daily give
Your gifts that show us that You Live.

TWILIGHT’S SONG

The golden sun is slipping down
in changing colours to the ground,
all is peaceful, all is still
as slanting rays shoot down the hill.

At feeders birds are making use
of seed and bath, their noise profuse,
the blue jay screams its shrill dominion
over all the backyard kingdom.

The crescent moon, so cold, aloof
suspended high in heaven’s roof,
and the soulful willow’s tresses
turn yellow as the fall progresses.

A near by dog, his yelping sends
a greeting to his canine friends,
and suddenly there’s ne’er a breeze
to rustle multi coloured leaves.

At last the clouds o’er western sky
beauty blushing treat the eye,
all babes within their beds belong
harken to sweet Twilight’s Song.

EVANGELII NUNTIANDI

Let us proclaim the Good News
to every man and nation,
so they’ll decide for Jesus
most precious gift to all creation.

We must take the Gospel to our hearts
His invitation to embrace,
follow Jesus, tell His story
help all to meet Him face to face.

When we heed His message
deciding finally to give,
our life to Jesus, ask forgiveness
then He’ll show us how to live.

With our ‘Yes’ we set in motion
God’s graces in our hearts,
He transforms us with His Power
so to make a brand new start.

When we seek Him, He will find us
when He knocks, invite Him in,
He’ll fill you with what’s needed
to go and dwell with Him.

Let us take Him , to our burdened hearts
accept all He has to give,
and we’ll never be afraid again
to go out and fully live.

OUR DAILY BREAD

Your Bread of Life was given
at the instance of Your thought,
of the life that’s daily in us
alone we would be naught.

With Your bread You feed the hungry
with those that have, the hunger grows,
for the God who keeps on giving
His paternal love to show.

His gift, the only one that matters
the pearl without a price,
the life blood of all nations
the only food that will suffice.

Give us each day our daily bread
let it rain down from above,
we cannot have life without it
for Your Bread of Life is Love.

OCTOBER DAY

The clouds of grey are speeding by
on their stormy ocean in the sky,
and here and there a small oasis
pools of blue our vision graces.

The wind, its angry breath does hurl
the dizzying-dancing leaves a-swirl,
to trim the curbs and hedgerow still
with their fading beauty for a frill.

The trees are whipping, all grown sparse
their dry leaves giggling at some farce,
no less lovely by their loss
still fetching, as their crowns they toss.

The molten beauty of the sun
shines forth and shows to everyone,
the blessings that have come our way
on such a cool October day.

LABOUR OF LOVE

Your children loving Father
in answer to Your call,
are gathering to learn the ways
to minister to all.

To seek the help that’s needed
to balance out our lives,
then step out in faith and courage
and help our neighbour thrive.

Oh help us loving Father
we ask in Jesus’ name,
send the Spirit down upon us
with His gifts our hearts inflame.

Your little ones are burdened
with maladies, afflictions,
Your lambs have strayed so far away
lost in the world’s addictions.

Help us Lord to listen
heed their every need and care,
and empty out their pain filled hearts
and put Your Peace in there.

We will love Your people
with all our hearts and Yours,
bless us now as we go forth
to live Your Gospel Lord.

JOYFUL PRAISE

It’s such a joy my voice to raise
in word and song to give Him praise,
the words and notes I speak and sing
are carried high on Spirit wings.

To the Father ever waiting
all my love anticipating,
ever calling me to be
I in Him and Him in me.

When the fullness of His plan is known
I’ll in His love be fully grown,
evermore in perfect adoration
to praise Him, God of all creation.

Perfect love I then will give
eternally with Him to live,
in His glory, in His Love
in His Kingdom high above.
