A NEW DAY

A new day is dawning
and with the rising of the sun,
all men’s hearts are calming
there’s new hope for everyone.

For we’ve tested and we’ve tried
earthly ways to be content,
nothing’s worked, and men have cried
now’s the time to change, repent.

The answer’s been there all along
the help that we all need,
in our hearts His soul song
rings out, is finally freed.

Then the veil is lifted
and our vision is like new,
we realize that we’ve been gifted
by God, faithful and true.

We finally see His guiding hand
in all life’s happenings,
when men play out His Mighty Plan
true happiness He brings.

SONG OF GLORY

Oh Jesus I love You
my heart is content,
play Your song of love through me
I’m Your instrument.

Let the notes ring out clearly
let them sound near and far,
let them tell of Your Glory
the love that You are.

The melody’s simple
its beauty does grow,
the rhythm is graceful
and the lyrics do flow.

My song’s never ending
its notes will still play,
I will sing it so gladly
until my final day.

Then You’ll write a new song
like none played before,
I’ll sing Your Song of Glory
with pure joy evermore

JESUS KNOWS

Every deep dark secret
buried in our minds and hearts,
our every imperfection
Jesus knows each piercing dart.

Each time we show compassion
kindness, generosity,
or lend an ear to pain and sorrow
Jesus knows–smiles tenderly.

When our hearts are broken
by someone’s careless word or deed,
that takes away our confidence
Jesus knows our every need.

So many tears are falling
not one heart is left unscathed,
some turn away, ask not for help
Jesus knows they can be saved.

If only we would love Him
and take our sweet repose,
in His precious Sacred Heart
all His children, Jesus knows.

TO KNOW HIM MORE

Sitting in my rocking chair
as back and forth I go,
I reach down deep, within my heart
my wounds and tears I show.

To Jesus, ‘oft forgotten
in all our busy days,
He waits for us to ask for help
to give Him thanks and praise.

For His blessings are uncountable
His ways are not our own,
we find it hard to follow Him
to sin and darkness we are prone.

Help me learn about You Jesus
as much as any human can,
I long to know about the love
that sent You, God made man.

The more I learn about You
the greater my desire,
to be engulfed forevermore
with Your saving, loving fire.

LIFE SOURCE

God’s river of love does gently flow
from Him through you and me,
it carries us with purpose
to where He wants us to be.

But, we sometimes see, upon the shore
delights that tempt and taunt,
when savoured, leave a bitter taste
hearts and minds the deeds do haunt.

When we stray, far from the flow
and want to turn the tide,
Satan whispers vicious lies
he wants us on his side.

Go back to the river
the truth, the peace, the source,
of all that’s needed in our lives
let the river run its course.

THE HUMBLE STABLE

Rejoice! rejoice!
be of good cheer,
our loving Saviour
is very near.

The world, it waits
in anticipation,
the Glorias of angels
announcing peace to all nations.

The stable is still
the manger awaits,
a humble abode
in a tumble down state.

Joseph and Mary
so tired and worn,
found no place but this
for The Child to be born.

So they did what they could
with what little they had,
never complaining
their hearts were so glad.

Joseph gave her what comfort
his love could provide,
he prayed and waited
not far from her side.

Soon the stable was filled
with heavenly light,
and enveloped sweet Mary
in ecstasy, from his sight.

Oh, the joy and the peace
and the light it did pour,
from out the poor stable
through the cracks and the floor.

And lo, there’s the virgin
in her arms holding tight,
the precious wee Christ Child
to turn darkness to light.

To this day the Hosannahs
reverberate still,
the Good News ever echoing
and all men’s hearts thrill.

SING MY SOUL

Oh my soul, lift up your voice
with notes I cannot raise,
sing my song to Jesus
my song of love and praise.

When waves of love wash o’er me
the longings do increase,
to praise You my Lord Jesus
with words that never cease.

No words, spoken by me
could ever be compared,
to the song of love my soul sings
ever constant, nothing spared.

Give my all, oh soul of mine
every moment of each day,
to my one and only Jesus
my Light, my Love, my Way.

GOD’S GIFT TO ANNE AND JOACHIM

For years her womb, unfruitful
longed to feel the joy of life
arms ached to hold a baby
God’s gift to man and wife.

And tho’ it seemed their fervent prayers
would never be fulfilled,
in the Temple anew, they asked the grace
faith and hope within them still.

The Lord God saw the virtues
that filled the aging pair,
and granted so much more to them
a gift beyond compare.

Her womb, held the new hope
to be given unto men,
the purest, sweetest virgin
to be born without a sin.

Their prayers were answered even more
than they could have ever dreamed,
she would give birth to the woman
who would become all heaven’s Queen.

MORNING SONG

The morn in peaceful silence greets
the still and empty nearby streets,
in the East, the warming, golden rays
probe the dark, outpours a bright new day.

Creation wakens with a thrill
sun chasing shadows down the hill,
woolly lambs drift softly by
grazing in their pastures, in the sky.

Be still and listen to the throb
the love, of The Almighty God,
He tells us that He’s always there
in His daily blessings, that we share.

Each moment is another verse
a song of love forever, to disperse,
the glories of the Master’s Hand
countless as the grains of sand.

LOVE STORY

Gazing down upon humanity
so many years ago,
the Son of God, in all His splendour
longed, His Love for us to show.

He asked His loving Father
if He could pay the price,
of all our sins and evil deeds
by His Love Sacrifice.

The Father, understanding
His Son Divine, did dress,
this purest, perfect Spirit
in our weighted, human flesh.

He placed Him in the purest place
that He could find on earth,
in the fragrance of a virgin’s womb
to await His humble birth.

She knew that sorrow waited
in shadows of another time,
that two hearts would bleed in union
for the errors of mankind.

Born in a humble stable
for all mankind , to show,
His wealth was in the Father’s love
and in this wealth He’d grow.

He grew, like any other child
was taught the lessons and the ways,
like us, in all else but sin
let us ever give Him praise.

In the passing years His knowledge
of the Father’s will became,
the map, to lead Him down the path
to glory, and a death of shame.

He suffered, how He suffered
His last breath He did take,
the last drop of His Precious Blood
He shed, for our sake.

Such love, the like, we’ll never see
on this our earth again,
until His promised second coming
that will end all fear and pain.

HOMEWARD BOUND

Sometimes I walk with dragging steps
down paths so dark, alone
my heart’s attachments wounding
and to torture often prone.

It seems each step is weighted
as life’s burdens push me down,
I struggle, to put on a smile
but it soon turns to a frown.

Then a new day opens up
fresh joy He brings to me,
a respite from the valley
and new hope do I see.

For steps in darkness, steps in light
are all the same you see,
they lead me ever Homeward Bound
closer my God to Thee.

GOLDEN DAYS

My eyes are drawn to distant hill
it seems they’ll never get their fill,
Autumn colours all ablaze
peeking out from morning haze.

The trees put on their final show
adorned in splendor e’er they go,
to sleep, as winter winds do sweep
their fallen beauty into heaps.

Little creatures all a-scurry
gather winter stores before the flurry,
the tiny pools of dew their drinks
soon to freeze to mini rinks.

The crows announce with plaintive call
the golden glory of the fall,
ducks and geese as they wing south
bring oohs and aahs from out my mouth.

The many sights and sounds and smells
bring joy within my heart to dwell,
my lips give voice to thanks and praise
to God the Creator, of Golden Days.

MYSTERY OF LOVE

God’s plan for our salvation
so long ago took place,
He gave us little Mary
to lead us from disgrace.

She was born so pure, Immaculate
more perfect than the sweetest flower,
that grows in the Father’s Kingdom
beauty increasing, with each hour.

The Spirit dwelled within her soul
drawn by this virgin pure,
and told her oh so many things
from all evil did obscure.

Of heavenly things her knowledge grew
with the dew of the Father’s love,
fresh as a rose in the morning
was this mystery of love.

His designs for her were special
she was to be the perfect one,
the pure and sweetest cradle
for Jesus, His only Son.

THE THIEF

There is a thief among us
just waiting for his chance,
to rob us of peace, love and joy
in every circumstance.

He’s patient oh so patient
standing just outside our ring,
of happiness and all that’s good
to do his evil thing.

Nothing makes him angrier
than a circle of pure love,
in times of human weakness
a wedge between us he does shove.

Division is his game plan
and when he has success,
he dances round and shouts with glee
and onward he does press.

Once he gets a foothold
his voice becomes more strong,
he leads us down the garden path
from the place where we belong.

There is a way to break his chain
blow away his evil deeds,
hand it all to Jesus
ask The Love to intercede.

His healing then will help to mend
each wound, each battle scar,
the thief will cease his laughter
no more, our thoughts to mar.

ISLAND OF PEACE

Days of darkening shadows
confusion, and anxieties,
are causing people everywhere
to fall down on their knees.

They sense a change is coming
mankind has gone to far,
there are no simple answers
no wishing on a star.

They feel adrift and driven
to all the worldly things,
caught up in swirling eddies
no fulfilment do they bring.

More and more a call is being heard
to come back to the source,
of joy, and peace, and perfect love
and diminish Satan’s force.

To get back to the laws of God
prayer and fasting everyday,
the Rosary and a simple life
to love, the only way.

An island of peace He gave us
she’ll teach us how to change,
we only have to ask her
all our lives, she’ll re-arrange.

So do not be discouraged
take heart, and heed her call,
she’ll guide you to her Jesus
before the darkness starts to fall.

COME LORD JESUS

Come Lord Jesus
I implore You,
Come Lord Jesus
I adore You.

Come Lord Jesus
on Your steed,
Come and fill
each longing, need.

Hearts grown so tired
of hatred, lies,
look with hope
to Eastern skies.

Searching for
the Love so bright,
to deliver mankind
from the night.

Come Lord Jesus
put to rest,
Satan and
all evilness.

The new day then
will dawn, become
full of glory
Come, Lord Jesus Come.

SIMPLICITY

I have a yearning to express
to all who come to me,
the need to greet and then to share
with true simplicity.

To know no matter what we say
is accepted with no fear,
that you will laugh, or think me daft
for what’s inside is dear.

To scoff at someone’s hopes and dreams
rents the heart and builds up walls,
and worse than this it causes
their self-esteem to fall.

To show by my own openness
and hope you too will share,
all your inner, deepest thoughts
without a worry how you fair.

For with respect and trust we must
reach out in amity,
you give to me, I give to you
sharing with simplicity.

CLOSER STILL TO THEE

I bring before You, oh my God
my body and my soul,
filled with disease and suffering
with Your healing hands, make whole.

For I know how much You love me
and would never bring me pain,
unless there was a distant reason
a purifying with Your flame.

My suffering Lord, will join with Yours
a cleansing, healing fire,
my humble offering made afresh
for it was Your desire.

When we bring our needs to You
it forever does fulfill,
the need of a loving Triune God
to be near us, closer still.

THE HARVEST

All the fields have turned to weed
choked and smothered, all good seed,
the hot, dry wind of Satan’s breath
searing, putrid, bringing death.

The evil hoards seem to have won
dank mists and fogs blot out the sun,
in his darkness, no hope is seen
for hatred is his blinding screen.

But there’s an army on the way
who in the end will save the day,
the Flame of Love, their only plough
to Almighty God, they ever bow.

They’ll burn the weeds and plant anew
and sprinkle with the heavenly dew,
sent from the Father and the Son
the Spirit and Mary, for the new day begun.

When each field is fertilized in love
with the wisdom and knowledge of God above,
a harvest of gold, on that day He will reap
each ripened ear, forever to keep.

CALL TO THE ARK

Come all my dearest children
for the time of trial is here,
into the ark of my protection
I will take away all fear.

Just as Noah long ago
saved those who would take heed,
and left behind the blind and deaf
full of worldly sin and greed.

The reign of sin and error
is increasing, soon to flood,
because of man’s rejection of my Son
and His redeeming blood.

The earth is placed in peril
all children on the brink,
minds and hearts befuddled
into Satan’s grasp they sink.

My ark will be a haven
I will protect and save,
those who come and take their refuge
I will help you to be brave.

My mother-love will fill you
I will light your path and guide,
through times of fear and darkness
I’ll be always at your side.

GIFTS OF LOVE

As I sit and contemplate
all the good things God did make,
my eyes do soar up to the sky
and watch His creatures as they fly.

Then to the tops of varied trees
that in His blessed-cooling breeze,
play songs that make my heart to sing
and calm me, take away life’s sting.

The birds that decorate its limbs
all sing to You their sweetest hymns,
the daisies in the field do sway
try to lift their heads above the hay.

In my garden can be seen
every different shade of green,
and every seed becomes a shoot
and grows from leaf to precious fruit.

Then all around and everywhere
You put my neighbour so we’d share,
abundant gifts and talents given
by a loving Father who lives in heaven.

Who on us all, has kept His gaze
and sent the Light to show the ways,
to better run the holy race
and win the vision of His face.

THE SEARCH FOR PEACE

From he time of man’s beginning
he’s been looking without cease,
through times of war and hatred
ever in the search for peace.

Many a peace pact has been signed
many a compromise,
but so many hurts and grudges
keep them from the final prize.

No earthly means can bring about
for what mankind’s hearts do yearn,
for there’s one very special message
they have yet began to learn.

The Prince of Peace so long ago
to all men did impart,
to love Him and our neighbour
will bring peace into our hearts.

For that is where it must begin
deep down within each man,
and peace will come unto the earth
it is the Master’s Plan.

THE WEDDING

Each time we answer to His call
or rise and walk when e’er we fall,
He gives to us His loving smile
and beckons us, walk down the aisle.

The angel choirs, voices raised
join with the saints to give Him praise,
the Bridegroom waits, His eyes a plea
beloved spouse, come be with Me.

My longing, trembling heart does throb
to be in union with my God,
to give Him praise and take my rest
my head upon His loving breast.

Each day when the sun bestows
it’s crimson rays, and all’s aglow,
closer, I will be to Thee
my God, my Love, eternally.

And then, oh then, my day will come
the earth, my tomb, You’ll take me from,
the veil from off my soul You’ll raise
into eyes of love I’ll ever gaze.

WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN

I might have been a man of God
and healed so many souls,
perhaps the ones you pray for
drifting far outside the fold.

I might have been in politics
and helped the nation turn,
from laws and ways of darkness
to righteousness, that now they spurn.

I might have been in medicine
and found for you the cure,
for many of life’s maladies
that your loved ones now endure.

To never see the world, created
by the ever-loving Father,
to never live the life He gave me
because I might have been a bother.

I might have been the helping hand
words of comfort, could have voiced,
but I was not allowed to be
I never had the choice.

WELL OF TEARS

A well of tears within me
threatens soon to overflow,
I cling with desperation
to the loving hands that row..

The boat that is my daily life
adrift on stormy seas,
in times of human weakness
He brings me to my knees.

In my thoughts the evil one
plants a fog of fear and doubt,
and I am blinded as I search
to find the one way out.

Soon the winds of faith and love
disperse the fog, to me do show,
the one and only Navigator
I ever want to know.

For He will never steer me wrong
He brings about the calm,
and guides me on His course Divine
to where I e’er belong.

IN THE SILENCE OF THE NIGHT

In the silence of the night
when all is soft and still,
the velvet arms of darkness
soothe my heart and mind until.

All the troubles and the cares
that beset me through the day,
sink to a place of unimportance
as I lift my soul and pray.

For in my days of busyness
as events yet higher mount,
I lose sight of His promises
too numerous to count.

In the silence of the night
He tells me not to fear,
for in the day as well as night
He wipes away our tears.

All our pains and sorrows
would all on wings take flight,
if we would harken to His voice
in the silence of the night.

IN THE ARMS OF MARY

Mother Mary take us
in your arms so soft and sweet,
press us close, unto your heart
lull us with each soothing beat.

All your roses have turned wild
prune away the prickly thorns,
that choke and maim our souls so lost
so battered, bruised and torn.

We’ve tried to do it on our own
the hard and lonely way,
forgive our lapse of memory
take us to your heart today.

Take us, Mary, by the hand
defend and teach us day by day,
how to walk the narrow road
nevermore to go astray.

LILY OF THE VALLEY

Your quietude and beauty
so delicate and meek,
your veiled-head bowed in humble prayer
your perfume wafts so sweet.

You sought only to be all for Him
from the time of His conception,
with attitude of holy reverence
and all-beautiful perfection.

You grew in holiness and grace
until one day your soul,
cried out in longing, to the Father
for His will to soon unfold.

From the highest heaven came
The Word to dwell within,
your purest tabernacle
never touched by stain of sin.

With your voice so like a dove
you prayed and sang to Him,
the treasure that you cradled
was the Saviour of all men.

TO KNOW HIS LOVE

In times when all is going well
on His great love we seldom dwell,
it’s only when we are laid low
His abundant love we start to know.

It come in cards with loving words
get well wishes, written, heard,
calls and visits, cheerfully bring
joy to my soul, my heart to sing.

The bouquets with their colours gay
bring sunshine to my darkened days,
the essence of the prayers impart
their fragrance to the Father’s heart.

His love tho’ it is always there
in times of darkness He does share,
flowing like a river without end
through family and much loved friends.

TO WEAR THE CROWN

We are heirs to the Kingdom
children of our mighty King,
He gave to us His only Son
who took away death’s sting.

While on the earth He wore the crown
the Father’s will He did accept,
Obedient up to the end
to His final ragged breath.

How can we ever thank Him?
how can we make recompense,
He suffered for us out of love
He was pure and innocent.

When He says go, then I will go
when He says stay, I’ll stay,
accepting always with a smile
His plan for me each day.

I’ll wear the crown and with my ‘yes’
each joy each sacrifice,
lifted up to give Him glory
I will gladly pay the price.

NEW VISION

I saw the light as from afar
a bright but very distant star,
I saw it in my younger days
through eyes bedimmed by earthly haze.

It was before I knew its source
or felt its warmth, or knew its force,
but as I searched–put out my hand
the more I learned to understand.

The change it came so very slow
my hunger for it still does grow,
it now consumes my every cell
in my heart and soul to ever dwell.

I see the light more clearly now
but will never cease to wonder how,
the light that shines for everyone
make so many hide their eyes and run.

It has within it all we need
to burn away each evil deed,
and make us all so whole and bright
whosoever basks within His light.

LIFT JESUS HIGHER

He took upon His mortal flesh
the burden of our sinfulness,
it pressed Him down into the dust
bruised and battered, beaten, crushed.

He was nailed and fastened to a tree
lifted high for all to see,
His life, not just another story
this tree, the birth place of His Glory.

He died, was buried in a tomb
this gift of love from Mary’s womb,
on the third day He did rise
and gave to all a heavenly prize.

As He walked from out His tomb
new life on earth began to bloom,
and when we keep Him in our sight
we’re delivered from life’s long dark night.

As He took upon His being pure
the pain of our sin to endure,
His act of love did e’er inspire
the need to lift our Jesus higher.

I HAVE SEEN

Oh good and faithful servant
on you I’ve kept Mine eye,
more precious than the sparrow
that soars the heavens high.

I’ve seen you touch a grieved one
I’ve seen you quench a thirst,
I’ve seen you clothe the naked
nurse the sick, they all came first.

And as you did it to the least
of these My needy ones,
you did it to the Father
you did it to the Son.

In your faith and in your trust
you let Me dwell within,
and My Spirit gave you strength
to climb My saving hill, to win.

The mansion that I have prepared
for you my faithful bride,
is shining and in readiness
come in, with Me abide.

WALK THE WALK

Come all my little children
with your worries and your sorrow,
and walk the walk with Me today
we’ll tread together to tomorrow.

Think not about your future
or the past so long since gone,
today has always cares enough
and to Me you all belong.

Put your trust in Me each day
for My love for you is great,
I won’t give you more than you can bear
step out, don’t hesitate.

When your burden is too heavy
you feel you can’t go on,
just ask and I will give you rest
I’ll send to you your Simon.

Take up your cross and walk the walk
for it is I who am the giver,
My Cross was heavy, I carried it
yours is but a sliver.

HEART OF LOVE

Oh my Jesus Saviour mine
take my heart and make it Thine,
warm the coldness, light the dark
cleanse with Your blood, the wounded part.

Lord, fill up all the wintry places
with Your firey love and graces,
write on the pages all made clean
by Your Sacrifice, when You did redeem.

Let all the love in my heart to share
cry out to the Love who placed it there,
may I find comfort and release
nestled in Your Heart’s sweet peace.

Oh my Jesus Love Divine
my heart is Yours, no longer mine,
it beats for only You alone
waiting for the time, it can go home.

BY THE WATERS

Come and dwell along side of the river
by the waters that flow to deliver,
they’re the only true source
to wash away the dark force,
of iniquity, now and forever.

They are there for all steeped in sin
all you need is your faith to step in,
immerse your body and soul
waves of love will enfold,
trust in the Lord, He’ll deliver.

Fear not, when you stray from their flow
when the dry wind of sin starts to blow,
just take a fresh dip
He’ll forgive the slip,
believe in the Lord’s spoken promise.

Don’t let despair and remorse take a hold
these weeds that strangle the soul,
just dip in your cup
to the brim fill it up,
He loves you with love everlasting.

SWEET NAME OF JESUS

As many as the raindrops
as many as the sands of time,
I whisper Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
You are the reason and the rhyme.

No other name holds so much meaning
no other name brings so much peace,
when I pray Your name sweet Jesus
all my cares You do release.

Each time I whisper Jesus softly
a perfect vision comes to mind,
and all You are I see once more
and to the heights I climb.

Oh the gifts You give me
oh the blessings You bestow,
I whisper thank you Jesus
that You love me this I know.

LET ALL OF THOSE...

Let all of those
with eyes to see,
see Christ in you
and Christ in me.

Let all of those
with ears to hear,
heed His truths
and hold them dear.

Let all of those
with tongues to speak,
tell all, the Good News
that they seek.

Let all of those
with hands to touch,
bring comfort to those
who need it so much.

Let all of those
with feet to trod,
walk the straight and narrow
way to God.

Let all of those
with a heart to beat,
the rhythm of love
place it at His Feet.

SWEET MARY

Your faithful ones sweet Mary
form the circle of your crown,
our hearts like fiery rubies
aglow with faith and love profound.

With their every beat, may your grace increase
our loyalty and purity,
so as little faithful children
we are led by our sweet Mary.

Since the time of our adoption
beneath the Cross on Calvary,
her goal has been to gather
love gifts for Jesus, from sweet Mary.

May our each and every prayer
join with hers as to increase,
faith, hope and love upon the earth
Sweet Mary bring us peace.
