FROM DAZE TO PRAISE

The Christmas pies are finally baked
a zillion cookies stashed away,
gumdrops baked into pretty cakes
preparation for the Holidays.

The jobs undone are buzzing round
they play havoc in my head,
the gifts unbought, down in the town
for Sue, for John, for Fred.

Many cards are sent and money spent
for the yearly festive season,
Christmases often came and went
not knowing Jesus was the reason.

Take the time when day is through
to gaze into His humble manger,
and contemplate His love so true
don’t be to Him a stranger.

His message is the same, it hasn’t changed
so let us fill our days,
not with frenzies so deranged
and turn from daze to praise.

Bethlehem Town

His face it shone with love alight,
a beacon on that holy night.
It turned His simple place of birth,
into a shrine of love upon the earth.

No royal robes, no eider down,
just a poor little stable in Bethlehem Town.
His cries softened by the sweet voice of Mary,
the angels rejoicing, to the hills did carry.

Good news to the shepherds and to all who would hear,
that the Saviour was born, oh be of good cheer.
A star in the heavens was shining so bright,
guiding three wise men to this holy site.

One look at the child and every man thrilled,
they saw that the prophesy had been fulfilled.
They returned to their homelands, their hearts joyful and light,
and told of the Saviour who was born on that night.

From that day to this when this story is told,
all the peace and the joy once again do unfold.
For rich men, for poor men, His message does bring,
love and hope for all sinners, our Lord, King of Kings.

REAL PRESENCE

From His Sacrifice of perfect love
when Jesus died for you and me,
He is present, ever near us
it’s where He wants to be.

Upon each altar daily
He repeats His Sacrifice,
to show us how He loves us
He gives us food that does suffice.

In the form of wafer-white
and red as ruby wine,
He gives to us His Body, Blood
His Soul, His presence so divine.

Then He waits in majesty
for us to come to Him and share,
our prayers, our joys, our sorrows
our each and every care.

We must become like mirrors
reflect the Father’s Love to all,
and keep within His presence
He will heed our every call.

THE TEARS OF MARY

If we could see the world today
through the eyes of Mother Mary,
we’d understand the reason
her tears fall, because we tarry.

We heed not her tender pleadings
we answer not her call,
she knows what’s about to happen
she wants to save us one and all.

We are all her little children
her healing balm she will impart,
when we are consecrated
to her pure, Immaculate Heart.

She will tend us in that garden
removing all our evil deeds,
and pollution of this cold world
like so many toxic weeds.

We’ll become her perfect roses
gathered for her perfect Son,
watered by the tears of Mary
when the new day has begun.

HEAVENLY PAUSE

When in times of deepest prayer
all my love with Him I share,
my soul is light with holy leaven
He elevates me close to heaven.

I rise and soar with love afire
to be with Him my one desire,
to gaze into His precious face
all life’s cares He does erase.

He greets me with arms open wide
nothing can ever stem the tide,
of joy and peace, true happiness
He fills me with His tenderness.

Lifted higher and higher as we meet
I fall in humility at His feet,
He gives me forgiveness for all my flaws
and thanks me for my heavenly pause.

THE NEED FOR LOVE

My gentle-loving Jesus
as I pray on bended knee,
my heart and soul and body
bowed low in reverence to Thee.

I can’t get along without You
You’re the food that brings release,
from the pangs of my souls hunger
for love, for joy, for peace.

When I feel lost, in turmoil
and Your Presence seems to me,
to be far away, I’m lonely
and all I am cries out to Thee.

For You were once abandoned
in the garden, on the Cross,
so I know You’ll understand me
my little faith, my loss.

Your Father’s love, so visible
by the gift of His own Son,
You, my gentle-loving Jesus died
for us eternal life was won.

UNDERNEATH A SMILE

A smile can often cover up
from everyone we meet,
a host of miseries and pain
that lie buried oh so deep.

Our loved ones never really know
at least I pray they don’t,
that their thoughtless words and actions
need so much healing, but they won’t..

Admit to faults and failings
in silence they do hide,
with hearts so cold and hard as rock
all because of foolish pride.

They think to say ‘I’m sorry’
will make them small and weak,
Oh God, when will You hear the prayers
for all the answers that we seek.

When will these smiles we’re wearing
become ones so true, so whole,
that will reach right down inside of us
into our very souls.

CLEANSING FIRE

Immerse me in Your Sacred Wounds
light my darkness with Your fire,
burn all that is impurity
create in me, but one desire.

To say yes to God the Father
to obey His perfect Son,
Spirit fill me with Your gifts
so we may be as one.

In perfect love, the driving force
to turn all wrongs to right,
to trust and not to worry
keep Him always in my sight.

In faith, I wait upon the Lord
all His promises to keep,
to practice patience, and to persevere
ever humble, ever meek.

YOUR MOTHER’S KNEE

My Jesus, how I long to be
so little, on Your mother’s knee,
where with her sweet and tender lips
like the pinkest roses, words do slip..

Into my ears that ever want for more
the words that You heard years before,
that waft on breath so dewy fresh
that speak of love and tenderness.

To reach up to her lily-cheek
caress its softness, then to peek,
into her mother’s eyes so blue
where love’s fire burns for me and you.

To press close to her throbbing heart
in its cosy warmth, may I never part,
it will soothe me with its grace-full rhythm
and I will know I’ve gone to heaven.

HIS PAIN

Oh my God the pain
when You contemplate our stain,
our hearts so closed, infected
all Your Love refused, rejected.

Oh my God the pain
when we profane Your Holy Name,
each time a curse falls from our lips
it is Your scourging with the whip.

Oh my God the pain
when we refuse time and again,
to take Your hand extended
so our hatred can be mended.

Oh my God the pain
to think Your Sacrifice in vain,
when we reject the cleansing flood
that is Your Redeeming Blood.

Oh my God the pain
when You see Your children’s shame,
as they kill new life You’ve given
before it ever can be liven.

THE POWER OF THE CROSS

Beloved children bring to me
all your vessels empty as can be,
follow on the path that I once tread
leading you from the valley of the dead.

To where I was tortured and racked with pain
My body and soul they had no stain,
but those of My children whose hearts were hardened
so I walked to the mount of eternal pardon.

Amid the hearts of the Trinity
was My mother’s heart pierced in its purity,
throbbing in union with her fading Son
whose death would become a victory won.

Come to the Cross and I promise one day
true peace will fill your vessels of clay,
taking them out of a world grown selfish and cold
turning them into Holy Vessels of Gold.

TAKE UP THE CROSS

Every morning as we wake
upon our shoulders we must take,
The Cross that Jesus’ body bore
following in His footsteps evermore.

Sometimes it weighs down without cease
as we walk along life’s busy streets,
struggling to keep on an even keel
temptations nipping at our heels.

They follow oh so close behind
evil spirits of the flesh and mind,
waiting for unguarded moments
our dark sides they unceasingly foment.

We fall and lose sight of the Son
blinded by the scales of the evil one,
get up, and do not be afraid
the price of your sins, on the Cross I paid.

Refresh your souls in the healing stream
of the Saviour who, for all time redeemed,
no matter what life our way does toss
each morning anew, Take Up The Cross.

HEARTS ENTWINED

Two loving hearts have beaten
from the beginning of all time,
to mankind’s hearts they’re calling
for their hearts to be entwined.

With both Sacred and Immaculate hearts
that are filled with love outpouring,
their desire once and for all time
to love and trust them they’re imploring.

Blinded by the world’s pollution
we follow voices of another,
who leads us mindlessly, wrecklessly down
mother, father, sister, brother.

As we approach the bottom
what light that there is left,
grasps out for the hand of God
for our souls are so bereft.

Our crying hearts are taken
soothed by their love divine,
to beat forever in His Kingdom
with all our hearts entwined.

LIFE CHAIN

All hearts are being called to fuse
in love and daily join to use,
Mary’s life chain, when prayed in trust
will bring about a world that’s just.

Full of life, not despair and death
that comes from Satan’s sulfureous breath,
he tempts, he taunts, fogs and distorts
then in weakest moments does abort.

New life, so fresh and innocent
that is a gift from heaven sent,
a flower that was plucked too soon
from the haven of the womb.

Let us band together, lift our banner high
each prayer sent soaring to the sky,
every boy and girl, and man and wife
come be a link in the chain of life.

JOURNEY HOME

The moment our souls departed
from the glory of His home,
to nestle in our mother’s womb
we commenced our journey home

The first excursion that we take
is so short and causes pain,
but discomfort is forgotten
when our mother’s arms we gain.

Tiny legs begin to walk
many a tumble we sustain,
tears are wiped, a bandaid hug
and we’re on the road again.

As we grow in strength and confidence
legs take us off to class,
the tears of child and parent
soon forgotten, they don’t last.

In this time of learning
we seldom realize,
the plan the Father has for us
life’s events befog our eyes.

His patience, as He waits for us
to finally grasp the truth,
that without His help and guidance
we’ll forever stay aloof.

Oft’ times we make a wrong turn
down paths that often lead,
our souls to sin and darkness
by wantonness and greed.

But by the loving grace of God
before it is too late,
we get the chance to change our course
and follow in His wake.

Down the roads of peace and joy
never more to roam,
He awaits us smiling–beckoning
as we complete our Journey Home.

CRADLE OF LOVE

Rock me Jesus, rock me
in the cradle of Your love,
You are the gentle comforter
whose hands caress me from above.

Heal all my deepest wounds and hurts
give me strength that I will need,
to do the will of God the Father
in thought, in word, in deed.

I am just a newborn baby
much to learn with each new day,
Your hands I need to guide me
what to do and what to say.

In times of need, please whisper Lord
words of hope to calm life’s fears,
Your Word , the only healing balm
speak it gently in my ears.

When I feel cold and lonely
and I need a place to rest,
wrap me in the blanket of Your love
my head nestled on Your breast.

A MOTHER’S LOVE

Come all my little children
with your wounds that are soul deep,
with bodies bruised and battered,
enough to make this mother weep.

All the damages that have been done
have left their marks within,
your innocence so often taken,
by the grievous, foulest sin.

The hands that should have shown but love,
in darkest moments caused great pain,
tongues that should have spoken words of love,
caused your tears to fall like rain.

I have a place of comfort
where your tears will ever cease,
all anxieties and tensions
soon all, will be released.

Come and cuddle up and rest
never more to part,
I will teach you how to love again,
In My Immaculate Heart.

SILENCE IN THE STORM

There is a tempest brewing
confusion and disorder do abound,
on this planet that keeps spinning
with corruption, round and round.

There are many voices crying
their falsehoods to mankind,
minds tangled up with messages
and the blind leading the blind.

So lost, we search and stumble
on these paths that lead no where,
like lambs unto the slaughter
led by people who don’t care.

There is a place where we can go
where truth begins to form,
a place of peace and silence
in the eye, of life’s dark storm.

In silence we begin to hear
His Word, filling up our souls,
His breath blows away confusion
bringing love and peace untold.

THE LOST SHEEP

Life’s roads have oft’ times led you
to walk where My light shone not,
on paths of murky darkness
all was Satan’s evil plot.

And though the distance that you placed
between yourself and Me,
you were always there, within My sight
full of patience I was for thee.

The time you spent so far from Me
no matter–days or years,
turn from the dark and call my name
there’s nothing you should fear.

I am the Loving Shepherd
you, the sheep once lost, now found,
you’re now a member of My flock
your life forever safe and sound.

LIFE BATTLE

Put on all the armour needed
the mighty sword of God,
to fight life’s fiercest battle
in His service ever trod.

To raze the walls of darkness
of the only miscreant foe,
with the mighty horn of truth
just like the walls of Jericho.

Cut the chains of doubt and fear
that keep us from His light divine,
the light that binds us one and all
to His Victory, yours and mine.

Listen not to evil’s prodding
enticing, luring, to the flesh,
but to the loving, truthful, pleading
of The God of Righteousness.

DRAW TO THE LIGHT

Come, all of you, my little lights
gather close, and draw from Me,
the fuel that makes you brighter
so, soon all the world will see.

A glow that fills the darkest places
that know not, and in their plight,
are searching, grasping, groping
the light not yet, within their sight.

I’m here, just ask, and I will be
there, ere the thought is through,
My light to yours, I’m touching
caressing, caring, mending you.

You’ll become a little beacon
go out and search for other lights,
together, you’ll burn brighter
very soon, there’ll be no night.

I’m drawing you, my little candles
ever closer to My light,
to burn forever for My Father
I am the Way, I am the Life.

THE GIFT OF SOULS

No matter how I try to praise
when to the heavens my arms I raise,
my murmuring’s–inadequate
don’t seem to fill my need as yet.

You do so much for me in every way
how can one simple human ever repay,
for the wings of love that help me soar
creating desire for ever more.

The desire to give with heavenly zeal
what You ask me to give, so all may feel,
Your love joined to theirs kindling, a Holy Fire
lifting them out of darkness and mire.

Take my hands and use them, may they never show wrath
make my feet to walk only on Your path,
may my eyes never be blinded, to the needs of mankind
may my smile be Your smile, so all can find....

The reflection of Jesus in me, the least of His flock
the seed of faith planted, embedded in rock,
I know now, what I, must have as my goal
to do Your work and give You, The Gift of Souls.

OUR LADY OF THE CROSS

She stood beneath the Holy Cross
in grief, her body bent,
no way to help her loved one
both their hearts were sorely rent.

Our Lady and John kept vigil
then as Jesus’ end drew near,
He gave her John to mother
and she became our mother dear.

Since that time, Mary’s tried to lead
all children to her Son,
to make amends and love Him
before their earthly life is done.

Calling us to prayer on mountain tops
even in a farmer’s field,
giving wondrous signs to many
with a loving mother’s zeal.

She loves us oh so dearly
and will suffer from the loss,
of our souls salvation
Our Lady of The Cross.

FOR YOUR HONOR, LORD

We offer up to You this day,
all we do and all we say.
Each second to the heavens soaring,
thanking, praising, and adoring
For Your Honor, Lord.

We give to You thought, word and deed,
may our members ever speed,
to do the work of Your only Son,
who showed us how salvation could be won
For Your Honor, Lord.

When we offer up this prayer,
we treat each moment with loving care.
To walk in His footsteps, and in every way,
lift up our lives and ever say
For Your Honor, Lord.

When at last our day is done,
and peace and rest is finally won.
May all we’ve accomplished out of love,
on wings of angels rise above
For Your Honor, Lord.

THE TREASURE WITHIN

In a deep and secret place
there’s a treasure often hidden,
by a plague of sin and darkness
so infected, disease ridden.

Light can no longer penetrate
to touch the seed within,
in pool of miasmatic squalor
in this fetid din of sin.

Then comes a prayer, caress, a touch
from someone with love to spare,
and a little crack is opened up
in this pit of deep despair.

That’s all it takes to bring about
the flow of light to deep within,
the heavy lid of evil lifted
letting love to grow therein.

The treasure then begins to shine
and all the darkness is released,
the cracks and crevices thus filled
with God’s pure love and peace.

PRAYER FOR ALL CHILDREN

We place upon Your altar Lord,
these gems not yet refined,
and plead for love and mercy,
and help to make them shine.

They have the light within them,
though their finish blocks its glow,
please teach us how to buff them,
to make their sparkle show.

Please put the words upon our lips,
when opportunities arise,
that won’t cut their closed up hearts,
but put love into their eyes.

We want them Lord, to sparkle,
like jewels upon Your throne,
with all their facets gleaming,
when You finally call them home.

SPIRIT PRAYER

Holy Spirit give to me
the gift of prayer
so I may be,
fluent when I talk to Him
whom the angels sing
their Requiem.
Replace my thoughts
of daily events,
with visions
that are from heaven sent.
Loose my lips
so I may speak
words of praise
may I ever seek
to raise my voice
with the Heavenly Hosts
in prayer to the Father,
Son and Holy Ghost.

THANKS GIVING

For God the Creator
for Jesus His Son,
for the Holy Spirit
all three in one.

For Mary our Mother
Queen of Heaven and earth,
Who in all of her purity
to the Saviour gave birth.

For all guardian angels
who stay at our sides,
protecting body and soul
our heavenly guides.

For land, sea and sky
that bring pleasure to living,
for these things and more
we must be ever thanks giving.

HE MENDED ME

There have been times back in the past
I thought my life would never last,
I fought for every breath, and it did seem
I’d never make it to my teens.
Often in the night I couldn’t sleep
Into the future I would seek.
To see what life might hold for me
Was it to be a life of misery?
I was filled with overwhelming fear
So I asked God, to draw ever near.
I asked Him please, if He didn’t cure
To make my days easier to endure.
The answer came through daily prayer
He showed me He was always there.
In time His answer came, you see
He put His breath inside of me.
He’s a loving Father, who hears each plea
He heard, He loved, He mended me.

ALL OF ME

Melt me Lord that I may be
soft in love for all to see.

Mold me Lord in Your perfect hands
so I may better suit Your plan.

Fill me with Your gifts, may they ever fuse
to heart and soul with love, Your Holy Glue.

Use me, replete, with all You’ve given
to lead all souls to Your home in heaven.

I am clay in Your hands, I long to be
my precious Lord, use all of me.

HEAVENLY HONEY

Oh dearest Lord may I ever be
as busy as the honey bee,
spreading the pollen that keeps alive
all Your flowers whose nectar does provide,
the heavenly honey so lovingly sent
the supply of which will never be spent.

It’s the sweetener that will always heal
life’s bitterest trials when we make the appeal,
all we have to do, is take the first sip
pray that its goodness will ever stick,
to the acrid regions of heart, mind, and soul
keeping them sweet and forever whole.

A MEETING WITH THE SPIRIT

It all started with a wonderful ride
a wedge of friends on either side,
we prayed the Rosary, sang many a hymn
to prepare our spirits for the presence of Him.
Who would make us soar to heavenly heights
put all worries and troubles out of sight.
His people were many, packed shoulder to knee
their faces full of His love for all to see.
I met a new friend, she sat next to me
her eyes full of tears and misery.
She cried and was sad, my heart strings did tub
I put arms around her and gave her a hug.
She told me she loved me, I said I love you too,
so we exchanged addresses and a story or two.
The Spirit flowed freely from each of the speakers,
a healing balm for each and every seeker.
Every heart, every soul, lifted up by the singing
the vibrations of which, in my ears is still ringing.
Two ladies anointed my head and my palms,
I told them of pain I’ve carried so long.
They laid hands upon me, and prayed with such zeal,
oh the wonderful things I started to feel.
My heart fluttered, then pounded in each fingertip,
I was pleasantly breathless, needing no drug for this trip.
Tiny shocks were passing from her hand to mine,
the peace and release were oh so sublime.
All through the Mass, my inner being was trembling
what a joy to be in, this unified assembling,
of His people who, are all in accord,
loving and serving the Almighty Lord.

LEAN ON ME

When your day is fraught with worries
and your plans have fallen through,
your oh so lost and lonely
that you don’t know what to do.

When someone you’ve loved and trusted
has turned their back and fled,
you’re hurt and often wonder
was it something that you said.

When someone asks you please to do
what fills your heart with dread,
you feel insecure and fearful
on paths you’ve never tread.

Just remember precious child of Mine
that for all time I will be,
ever present, all around you
Please, won’t you lean on Me.

He Is

The look of love
the compassionate ear,
the lips that speak
to calm life’s fears.

The forgiving soul
the helping hand,
His feet that walk sowing
His Word o’er the land.

The caring heart
that gives relief,
to another heart
bowed low in grief.

He did all these things
and we too should live,
our actions full of the love
He Is.

THE OASIS

Oh souls of Mine
why do you waste,
life’s precious time
to ever pace,
in arid desserts all alone
Come to The Oasis.

Oh My children
heed My call,
there’s comfort here
for one and all,
in my everlasting arms of love
Come to The Oasis.

Oh cleanse your wounds
don’t try to hide,
for all your sins
on the Cross I died,
just ask and all will be forgiven
Come to The Oasis.

Oh My loved ones
don’t you see,
that I need you
and you need me,
all things are here for all who thirst
Come to The Oasis.

THE MASTER PAINTER

The glory of God shines around us
in every living thing,
it shines forth from His stars and planets
to their beauty our eyes do cling.

From the rise of the sun every morning
to its setting of violet and rose,
the Master Painter’s hands are busy
all our days He does compose.

With each stroke of the Master’s brush
new wonders do unfold,
so mysterious, so wonderful
their beauties forever untold.

Each and every glorious morning
the shutters of our eyes we raise,
to view the Master’s gallery
and to ever give Him praise.

SYMPHONY OF SPRING

It all begins with a subtle wisp
of something in the air,
the days have lost their crispness
new buds are bursting everywhere.

Birds in their Spring regalia
joyfully sing o’er hill and dale,
praising God for all the splendor
that comes always without fail.

The sun in ever increasing strength
coaxes grass and bulbs to rise,
from the ever warming earth
reaching upward to the sky.

The flies between the window panes
commence to stagger on their feet,
and the chorus of the frogs
with songs, lull me into sleep.

The geese all fly in perfect vees
so all of us can see,
they’ve made it to another Spring
their pattern one of victory.

The cleanness of the Springtime air
enters windows, fills each room,
with something money cannot buy
a drop of God’s perfume.

ALL I NEED

I have no need of rubies
of diamonds and pearls,
of silver, gold or platinum
or treasures of the world.

My needs are all so simple Lord
on my list, Your love is first,
the more You give and I receive
the more for You I thirst.

My family, relatives and friends
their love I need to live
even when they hurt me
my love to them I’ll give.

The rubies, diamonds and pearls
that from Your lips outpour,
are all that I will ever need
for now and evermore.

AUTHOR OF MY LIFE

I am rent from top to bottom
my life an open book,
Lord, write upon my pages
fill every cranny, every nook.

Let the fire of Your Love
singe the pages for all time,
so all who ever see me
know I am Yours, and You are mine.

Write of Your forgiveness, and Your patience
with sinners such as me,
who rise and fall so often
like the tides upon the sea.

And when the pages are all full
in times of darkness I will see,
the light of Jesus’ messages
written by His hand for me.

PASS IT ON

I walk along each and every day
carrying a very heavy load,
I take it here, I take it there
down many a dusty road.

My heart is often troubled
and my mind is in a stew,
I feel that I’ve missed something
Lord, please tell me what to do.

I’ve asked You many, many times
for Your love in plenteous measure,
and every time You did respond
I received it faithfully to treasure.

So what then is my problem
what will give my soul relieve,
Is it that I’ve kept it just for me
and stashed it like a thief.

So now until the day I die
and even the time beyond,
to Your each and every creature
I will joyfully pass it on.

HALLELUIA, HE IS RISEN

The alleluia chorus
of the angels when they sing,
start the air to rumble
trembling every living thing.

Halleluia, Halleluia
Jesus Christ is risen,
lifting the veil of sinfulness
that is all of mankind’s prison.

The light of God outpouring
from His each and every wound,
lighting up the darkness
that was His lonely tomb.

Dressed in the glory of His Kingdom
He goes forth to greet His loves,
He visits first His mother
the world’s most precious dove.

Then one by one He sees them all
confirms all He said would be,
that to love and serve Him always
would lead to victory.

He said He had to leave them
to sit upon His throne,
so He sent the Holy Spirit
so they would never be alone.

LONGING

Take me in Your arms of love
press me to Your tender breast,
immerse me in Your Sacred Heart
where I long to take my rest.

Speak to me and tell me
of Your love that never dies,
I long to see the splendor
that shines from my Saviour’s eyes.

I yearn to give You thanks and praise
for all You’ve done for me,
to walk with You and talk with You
close to You forever be.

My days are quickly passing
one by one upon the earth,
drawing me closer, ever closer
to my final glorious birth.

LESSON IN LOVE

Higher than the highest mountain
deeper than the deepest sea,
is the love of Jesus Christ
that He gives to you and me.

In all the books in all the world
there are no words to describe,
His gentleness, His tenderness
His total lack of pride.

But for all His love and caring
He was not repaid in kind,
mankind’s hatred and rejection
was all that He did find.

The only way that He could save them
was to die upon the Cross,
He hung in pain and suffered
till all His blood was lost.

By His obedience and loyalty
to His Father up above,
He taught us how we all should live
He taught us how we all should love.

HE GIVES ME SPRING

He gives me life, He gives me love
the sun with each new morn,
its light brings His marvels into view
its rays keep us nice and warm.

Then the snows of winter start to melt
new life is coaxed from dormant things,
the very air itself is washed
it sets my heart and soul to sing.

The robin chirps so fervently
the sun upon his breast,
his heart it throbs so ardently
he does what he does best.

Spring thaw starts my inner rivers
surging joyfully through my veins,
I become intoxicated
and I know that my God reigns.

He gives me sights and wonders
so many glorious things,
but most of all, I thank You God
for life, for love, for Spring.

OPEN UP

Rejoice, rejoice, lift up your voice
proclaim His name on high,
His love is all consuming
it lifts you higher than the sky.

Praise Him, praise Him, with all your might
let His image ever be,
before your eyes, your heart and soul
with His love He’ll set you free.

Open, open up the doors
to heart and mind and soul,
He wants to dwell within you
don’t leave Him in the cold.

Let Him, let Him give to you
all the things He has in store,
the graces, love and blessings
they’ll be yours forevermore.

PERFECT LOVE

We have it in us to be great
because each of us the Lord did make,
in the perfect image of the one
who gave to us His only Son.

He came to teach us here on earth
the way to have a brand new birth,
hearts were hard, eyes didn’t see
He shed His blood on Calvary.

For some by then it was too late
for His next coming, they’d have to wait,
on the third day He rose and went to seek
His faithful ones, who were so meek.

He rose up to His heavenly throne
He didn’t leave them all alone,
the Holy Spirit He sent, from up above
to fill them with the fire, of His Love.

THE YEARNING SOUL

Oh Jesus, gentle Jesus
when You smile down on me,
my soul does start to yearning
from my body to be free.

The tears that flow do not belong
to me, but to my soul.
It cries out to my Jesus
longing only to be whole.

Its groanings and its sighings
they do not go unheard,
Jesus hears and understands,
He deciphers every word.

Jesus answers in response
it’s not time for your release,
be patient, yearning soul of Mine
I give you mercy, joy and peace.

PASSING OF TIME

Long ago and far away
was the first bright sunny day,
the air was pure, the grass was green
the sights were as we’ve never seen.
As time went by, so many days
progress happened innumerable ways,
sometimes for better, sometimes for worse
some of the changes more like a curse.
We long for quiet times we say
as that long ago and far away day,
seems we’re never happy or content
only realizing when we’re old and bent,
each day is a gift from heaven above
sent from the Father of infinite love.

FOOD FOR LIFE

Rid us of our cloaks of darkness
of ignorance and greed,
prepare us for Your table Lord
where we can ever feed.

On abundant milk and honey
that pours upon each soul,
beyond compare the flavour
the food that makes us whole.

Your mercy fills us full of hope
Your forgiveness makes us shine,
Your Word oh Lord does fill us up
makes us heady as with wine.

Your promises, give us the strength
to follow where You lead,
to give help to all Your children
in their each and every need.

THE LOVE TREE

Long ago there was a tree
that stood upon a hill,
the message that it stood for then
to this day is living still.

It’s crown was covered not in leaves
but in pointed-piercing thorns,
and all the ones who placed them there
looked upon it full of scorn.

There were no branches on the tree
except for the arms of Him,
that were stretched up to the Father
nailed and trembling for our sins.

The trunk was scarred and battered
the heart broken was outpouring,
the balm that would for all time be
the wings to set our souls to soaring.

The roots were not upon the earth
but in the Father on His throne,
when all of Jesus’ blood was shed
The Father took Him home.

Though this tree brought Him so much pain
it was out of love for you and me,
He saved us by His suffering and death
upon the Sacred Love Tree.

LIGHT OF MY DAY

I wake up every morning
and the first thing that I say,
is good morning, Holy Spirit
thank You for another day.

I bid You welcome, then I ask
that You guide me every second,
see that my eyes and ears don’t miss
His call when e’er He beckons.

Thank You for Your many gifts
please teach me how to use them,
I long to do Your Holy Will
not to misuse them or abuse them.

As the seconds pass away
comes midday, then comes dusk,
let all my daily chores be done
with fervour, love and trust.

Then as I lay me down to sleep
I give You thanks and praise,
Your love and light does guide me
to a new and promising day.

HEART TO HEART WITH JESUS

When I am sad and lonely
when a new day’s hard to face,
life’s cares have all but boxed me in
there’s no corner to feel safe.

We make so many errors
so much damage has been done,
is there no help out there for us
I say yes, there is but one.

Find yourself a quiet place
and close the door up tight,
call upon His Holy Name
and tell Him of your plight.

Have a heart to heart with Jesus
He’s happy, when we call on Him,
if we listen close He’ll tell us
how to deal with all of them.

So don’t sit in the desert
when living water’s close at hand,
have a heart to heart with Jesus
He will always understand.

FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is the sharing
of life’s tears of joy and sorrow,
a kiss, a hug, and words of hope
that lead us to tomorrow.

A visit when in sickness
we are layed low for awhile,
a joke, a little anecdote
that brings about a smile.

To listen with compassion
when they need a tender ear,
to hug them close and tell them
that your arms are ever near.

A good friend is a precious jewel
of the utmost rarity,
they can be many different things
I call them charity.

CROSSES

The pain within my heart it grows
Jesus is the one who knows,
my inward tears are filling up
all my secret recesses to the top.

The pains are sometimes long and sharp
that pierce and maim my very heart,
my life with problems overflowing
I try to keep them lord from showing.

I must keep on going with my cross
for in the end all won’t be lost,
long ago You trudged to Calvary
with Your Cross, and wounds and misery.

No one was gentle, no one was kind
Your mother’s grief always on Your mind,
Your heart so broken by man’s rejection
by the ones who were Your first selection.

But Your love was great, and Your mercy deep
the third day Your promise You did keep,
You rose in glorious, heavenly light
You opened Your home to all the contrite.

So when I suffer and feel adrift
I think of Your love and relief is swift,
in my sorrows I am never alone
as I wait Your longed for plea–come home.

WHY?

Why did you take away my right
to see the light of my first day,
to cuddle in your loving arms
in the warmth to swing and sway?

To suckle close to your own heart
to the rhythm of its beat,
to nestle in God-given arms
until I go to sleep?

To never hear you cooing softly
of the love you have for me,
or hear the gentle lullabies
that for me know, can never be.

The flowers, trees and honey bees
will never be within my sight,
for when you took away my life
you took away my right.

SEA OF LOVE

Your Spirit Lord has set me free
upon a vast and marvelous sea,
I rise and fall upon each swell,
at ease because I know so well,
no fears have I to overwhelm,
for You are always at the helm
Upon Your Sea Of Love.

You are my port in every storm,
when waves of darkness start to form,
and whirlpools swirl and pull me in,
in the frothy pools I seek to swim.
Then when I think that I am lost,
Your lifeline Lord is gently tossed
Upon Your Sea Of Love.

Your breath it fills my every sail,
and never does it cease to fail,
Your stars and sun and moon do guide,
as I ebb and flow upon the tide.
Your are the beacon that leadeth me,
forever on the safest sea
Upon Your Sea Of Love.

THE MASTER’S GARDEN

We are the flowers in His garden
and our needs are quite a few,
we are scattered over all the earth
we blossom in varied hue.

His love it shines down like the sun
it shines on each of us,
His blessings rain down every day
and wash away the dust.

He sowed our seed with perfect love
His gifts do help us grow,
He feeds us with the Bread of Life
His Spirit bends us to and fro.

Keep us perfect, fresh and bright
so that one day we may be,
chosen by the Master’s Hand
to bloom for Him eternally.

AWAKE, AWAKE

Awake, awake, don’t hesitate
the light of dawn’s about to break,
the darkness in the world to cease
all His love gifts to increase.

Mankind in darkness, on the brink
to the evil abyss about to sink,
will wake at dawn’s first golden light
only then to see their dreadful plight.

So keep God always in your heart
let His presence from you never depart,
may His precious love shine through our eyes
and we’ll win at last the final prize.

Let us listen to His Holy Word
pray that the Good News will be heard,
let us be on guard, and for our sake
help us stay awake, awake.
