LOVE’S JOURNEY

There is a hunger deep inside
of this I’m well aware,
it propels me ever forward
on my journey linked with prayer.

Step by step the hunger grows
a thirst that’s never sated,
The Word that is my food and quaff
promises so long awaited.

I try to bind the fear that rises
in my many desert stops,
what lies on the road before me
will I make it, will I not?

The answer lies, once and for all
in The Word who shows the way,
Who gives to us, all that we need
to make it to that day.

When on Calvary we meet
our bodies wounded, torn,
our souls all anxious, pining for
the goal for which we’re born.
