INTO THE HANDS OF LOVE

From the time His hands did place with care
each new life upon the earth to share,
all the wonders and the love He gave
His name upon each soul engraved.

Unseen, His hands were there to guide
first words, first steps, unsteady strides,
His sorrow, pain, was there for you
in time of tears, when feeling blue.

He danced with us and laughed and sang
when joy and gladness often rang,
within us, quickening hearts clear pealing
the splendor of His nearness feeling.

When burdened by the trials of life
complex, that bring us endless strife,
we feel alone, without a friend
His hands of love are there to tend.

Every moment of our life’s full span
He holds us gently in His hands,
When at last He calls us from above
we’ll walk into His hands of love.

WE COME

We come with bodies broken
with crutches, canes and chairs,
with hearts all torn and bleeding
burdened by our earthly cares.

With our spirits sadly dampened
by hurtful word and deed,
by our failures and frustrations
by our coldness and our greed.

Our hearts and minds and bodies
plagued by every sickness known,
the worst of these, the sinfulness
that in our souls has grown.

We come with souls a-yearning
Your forgiveness we do seek,
in shame before Your Majesty
in trembling, prostrate creep.

We come with these afflictions
along the road of Love Divine,
to Your arms outstretched and waiting
to Your Mercy for all time.

Then You will wipe away each tear
and fill our empty, broken hearts,
enfold us in Your Arms of Love
nevermore to part.

THE FATHER

The splendor of Your Majesty
reigns down from sea to sea,
from all that’s far away and near
on all, Your glory be.

All that You’ve made, was out of love
for man the beauty given,
so we can live within Your Grace
and take our place in heaven.

You gave us laws to follow
they are for our own good,
to imitate Your holiness
to love the way we should.

A loving Father always
You wait for us to choose,
the way to peace and happiness
Your Word our earthly clues.

We thank You for Your patience
for the beauty all around,
we thank You for Your endless love
that from infinity abounds.

HOLY SPIRIT

Oh Spirit of love
sweet piercing flame,
sent for God’s people
to all hearts to bring change.

You give sight to the blind
with new eyes do they see,
to the deaf You bring hearing
and pure love’s melody.

Hearts once like cold granite
burn tender and warm,
souls darkened by evil
in grief they do mourn.

For Your flame brings desire
from all sin to be free,
to live in Your joy
in sweet harmony.

Accepting and trusting
that what comes our way,
is meant to bring us all closer
to the Light and the Way.

Melt us sweet Spirit
with Your gifts ever fill,
mold us and use us
to live ever His Will.

PRAYER FOR POPE JOHN-PAUL 11

Oh Holy Father guide us
we need your helping hand,
to live the Way of Jesus
bring truth to all the land.

Without you we would be adrift
upon a tossing sea,
you steer us from the rocky shores
and from apostasy.

Mother Mary keep him safe
shield him with your mantle blue,
keep him nestled in your heart
your son in love so true.

He’s faithful to the Lord our God
and as years do take their toll,
support him with Your angels
and fortify his soul.

Our prayers increase for you each day
our love does grow and grow,
you spread faith and hope to everyone
God’s Love to all you show.

IN HIS GRACE

The day that I did come to be
His friend for all the world to see,
no longer someone far away
pure love within my heart to stay.

Free to live without a sin
His grace had come to dwell within,
and with His help, I can defeat
all evil that perchance I meet.

The Word was taken to my heart
stamped with His love to e’er impart,
desire to be one with Him
with Seraphim and Cherubim.

Then to share with all I meet
by word and action on life’s street,
for Jesus’ love can conquer all
and lift us up when e’er we fall.

For where He dwells, a holy place
the devil fears to show his face,
I’m not alone, He’s here in me
new life He gives, He’s set me free.

THE ANGELS’ TEARS

It’s raining tears of angels
from the heavens sorrows streaming,
with grief for all the babies
their lives snuffed in silent screaming.

God only knows their dreadful plight
their longing and their pain,
He suffers with these wee ones
on the Cross to wash the stain.

How it pains our loving Father
to watch His children’s frozen hearts,
do deeds so black, despicable
only hatred they impart.

His gifts of love rejected
future’s help-line dustbin tossed,
eyes closed to all that is the truth
for convenience sake ‘tis lost.

Woe to those who steal from God
His gifts of love divine,
repentance not forthcoming
will mean death for all time.

WAVES OF PEACE

In stormy weather God release
a measure of Your waves of peace,
when breakers of fear come crashing down
in panic the eddies swirling round,
draw me out of control and frightfully tossed
floundering, fearing that all is lost.

Desperate cries, soar swiftly, to the source
from the giver of peace we have recourse,
peace rushes in, washes out despair
He lets me know His loving care,
and though the storm remains nearby
He softens the blow, and lifts me high.

In times of trouble may we hold close
to His Word and promises boldly boast,
when stormy weather would have us flee
may we meet the turbulence on our knees,
In stormy weather, God will release
a full measure of His Waves of Peace.

AN AUGUST DAY

The new day shouts, it has begun
with liquid rays of heaven’s sun,
Sunflowers on thick sturdy stems
raise golden faces drinking in,
life giving warmth
a gift from Him.

Atop the hill all gayly showing
Black Eyed Susans, Goldenrod all glowing,
along the roads for all to see
Queen Annes’ Lace and chicory,
Dwarf Daisies clumping here and there
tempting all to stop and stare.

Soft breezes comb the Willow’s tresses
Poplars, their whispering caresses,
ears and eyes attuned to God’s Creation
each blink a new and fresh sensation,
His creatures scurry, their day to fill
with living and to do His Will.

The crickets sing their evening song
the sun sinks low and bids ‘so long’,
then one by one the stars awake
their places in the heavens take,
nestle in the velvet of the sky
the night has fallen with a sigh.

The cares and worries of the day
retreat and peace comes in to stay,
with thanks and praise within my heart
for all His gifts, I then depart,
to the land of dreams to be refreshed
so tomorrow, in hope, can be addressed.

DESERT SONG

The hour is late
I sit deep in thought,
my loved ones asleep
of my pain, they know not.

Wounds open and bleeding
into prayer I am tossed,
alone and abandoned
afraid and so lost.

All around me a shambles
there’s no sense and no reason,
no facet untouched
in this dry painful season.

Send an angel of mercy
to ease all the pain,
so I can take up my cross
follow You once again.

For there’s joy in just knowing
I walk not alone,
I tread in Your footsteps
as You lead me home.

All pain and suffering
but a moment endured,
is a small price to pay
for joy eternal assured.

Only You

Only You Oh God can still the wind
this eddy that I’m swirling in,
from all about me evils race
save me oh God by Your sweet grace.

In ever dizzying circles spinning
horrified by wickedness and sinning,
my weaknesses and omissions be
the pen that writes my destiny.

Only You Oh God can bring the peace
from all my sinfulness release,
pierce my heart with Your Saving Cross
and help me not to count the cost.

Let the world about me spin
just so long as You dwell within,
I give You all that is of me
I cling to You, please cling to me.

HOPE

It rose up from the lonely tomb
beckoned by the Risen Son,
to brighten days of frantic darkness
for God’s people everyone.

As the Risen Lord ascended
to meet His Father on His Throne,
the grace became a guiding star
to lead His children home.

The only thing to which we cling
at times, a solitary friend,
a grace and blessing given
our woeful hearts to mend.

For the grace is hope eternal
in His promises and Word,
the light that shines in darkness
and the truth that must be heard.

IN YOUR ARMS

Hold me oh God
like a babe in Your arms,
keep me near to the love
that protects me from harm.

For near You no evil
to my heart can cling,
You clutch me so close
removing life’s sting.

Teach me oh God
of Your love never dying,
dry the tears of Your children
who for Your love are crying.

They wander the streets
of a world grown so cold,
they are hurting and needing
Your arms to enfold.

Please help us who know You
to show them the way,
so all Your dear children
forever with You can stay.

SOUL GARDEN

Precious flowers of God
with pure love bedewed,
no two the same essence
no two the same hue.

One thirsting for water
another more space,
one needs special feeding
a new gift of grace.

Some thrive in the shadows
and some in full sun,
each needs special treatment
for their fruits to be won.

Each bud calls for tending
good gardeners so needed,
to care and to prune
of all uselessness weeded.

It takes love and caring
best done on our knees,
to tend a soul garden
our God for to please.

GUSTS OF JOY

Your breath oh God does gently blow
on mountains high and valleys low,
embracing life with fragrant kiss
Creator of unbounded bliss.

It touches all, Your every child
who reaches up with love beguiled,
beseeching love to ne’er abate
yearning souls so hopeful wait.

It blows o’er waters pure and calm
drawing hearts to praise and psalm,
and over raging, boiling sea
that blinds us as we seek to flee.

You know our every pain and need
upon Your graces daily feed,
gusts of joy our way you’ll send
as our cares we toss into Your wind.

We see not how Your healing breeze
works hidden miracles to please,
and all You ask us in return
that for Your breath we ever yearn.

REACH OUT

Your hands extended lovingly
reach out to all, and pleadingly,
You coax, entreat, whisper each name
oh come and wash away your stain.

Love as I so love all men
I reject no one because of sin,
but gently with sweet tender care
I show them love is always there.

Reach out to all the sick and lame
and all who suffer loss and pain,
the poor, the hungry, those grown cold
and draw them back within the fold.

For I am present in each one
each soul worthy to be won,
in reaching out to such as these
You, in love reach out to me.

SIGNS OF SPRING

The morning’s breath melodious
with bird-song, full rejoicing,
the coming of the Springtime
hearts full, pure joy they’re voicing.

The air is filled with awesome scents
our nostrils to delight,
the earth, its hidden beauties lay
in roots not far from sight.

The warming sun is coaxing
Winter’s hand to loose its hold,
on new growth long awaiting
its glory to unfold.

Our hearts with joy are throbbing
every fiber sings in praise,
to our God who’s ever giving
new life to fill our days.

Praise Him, God of all creation
praise Him people, every nation,
praise Him for each gift divine
praise Him for His Son did shine.

Praise Him for each varied season
praise Him for there’s every reason,
praise Him for faith, hope and love
praise Him for heaven high above.

Praise Him for crosses wisdom sent
praise Him for talents to be spent,
praise Him so that all may see
praise Him now and for eternity.

THE CUP OF LOVE

Jesus is the cup of love,
filled ever to the brim,
whosoever drinks his fill
will live and dwell with Him.

Some take a sip infrequently,
some know not the cup is there,
they die of thirst in darkness,
for Him, no time they spare.

Even if were all to drink,
this saving nectar pure,
the cup would never empty,
love forever will endure.

One sip will never be enough,
you’ll wonder why you long remained,
so thirsty, when the cup of love,
could have eased your fear and pain.

Oh won’t you come, all you who thirst,
and ever drink your fill,
from the eternal cup of love,
new life He will instill.

MARY, QUEEN OF THE ANGELS

Your mother’s womb so fragrant
prepared by God’s own hand,
was the cradle of perfection
the fullness of the Father’s Plan.

The essence of your sinless state
did draw the angels nigh,
to glory at your beauty
to hear each child-like sigh.

All through your young and tender years
knowledge of the Love instilled,
into the flower of your heart
yearning to live the Father’s Will.

The angels walked before you
above, below, yes all around,
shielding from all sin and hatred
that did on earth abound.

Your holiness and purity
made you the perfect choice,
to be mother of the Saviour
all the Father’s Love to voice.

The angel came announcing
God’s wish, to pave the way,
to heaven, for His children
who had gone so far astray.

On that hallowed night so long ago
when the Light came to all men,
the angels sang, announced His coming
the One to take away all sin.

And with your gentle passing
as your life on earth was through,
angels carried you to heaven
to be with your love so true.

Jesus placed a crown of glory
upon your head with love profound,
your place in heaven taken
while angels hovered all around.

THE RESTING PLACE

Often as I go about
the tasks of everyday,
I hear from somewhere deep inside
a call to stop and pray.

From a little spark it quickly builds
a consuming raging fire,
to go and meet my true love
tell Him of my desire.

I cloak myself in stillness
blot out distractions of the earth,
gaze into His loving eyes
experience re-birth.

From a wilted, dying flower
new sap begins to flow,
no longer bent and gasping
taking on a fresh new glow.

You feed me, oh my Jesus
with all the world can’t give,
You restore me with faith, hope and love
teach me what it takes to live.

The chrysalis begins to crack
far, the problems of the world,
I emerge a bright new creature
new spirit wings unfurl.

Refreshed, invigorated I return
from this peaceful resting place,
my countenance reflecting
the joy and love upon His face.

LOVE’S BOUQUET

Each little flower of the Lord
emits its sweet perfume,
and grows from bud to fullness
for the Creator they do bloom.

Each has its own uniqueness
myriad of colour, shape, design,
traits visible and hidden
made by His Hand Divine.

We too, are like the flowers
that bloom out in the field,
emitting all Your graces
to Your breeze, we can but yield.

To all around, we show our beauty
to all our essence, wafts so sweet,
spreading all You give like pollen
making fertile those we greet.

With praise we group together
thirsty for God’s quenching dew,
faces raised like adust blossoms
with Love’s Bouquet, He will bedew.
