THE KEEPER OF THE LIGHT

It all began I do perceive
when each of us were in love conceived,
from a tiny seed it commenced to grow
and as the years did come and go,
it fell like gentle summer rain
absorbed in our souls, our hearts and brains.
It shone within, it shone without
at certain times there was no doubt.
It was given when four times in white
it came in greater wondrous light.
The days do come, the days do go
of this precious gift I surely know,
that as I breathe that long last sigh
the giver of the gift will cut the tie,
and for all eternity, with all my might
I will praise the Keeper of the light.
