SIMPLICITY

I have a yearning to express
to all who come to me,
the need to greet and then to share
with true simplicity.

To know no matter what we say
is accepted with no fear,
that you will laugh, or think me daft
for what’s inside is dear.

To scoff at someone’s hopes and dreams
rents the heart and builds up walls,
and worse than this it causes
their self-esteem to fall.

To show by my own openness
and hope you too will share,
all your inner, deepest thoughts
without a worry how you fair.

For with respect and trust we must
reach out in amity,
you give to me, I give to you
sharing with simplicity.
