GIFT OF DIAMONDS

The world is wrapped in splendor
adorned with glitter, shining bright,
diamond pendants hang from eave and limb
a rich and cheerful sight.

The willow’s laden heavy
with jewels that reach the ground,
playing tinkling-happy music
as the wind blows through its crown.

Around the deck in perfect row
hangs the finest crystal lace,
the sun rays kiss its beauty
and it weeps and changes place.

The golden sun begins to sink
far as the eye can see,
naked branches of the hedgerows
become as silver filigree.

Awed by this perfect vision
God’s gift to all today,
turn not from the Love, the Giver
give thanks to Him each day.
