HELPING HANDS

Holy God of power and might
guide us in our daily flight,
from here and there, and to and fro
keep us ever in-the-know,
of how to treat our fellow man
to do for him all that we can,
erase a frown, and soothe a hurt
wipe a tear, and quench a thirst.
To be for all their daily bread
on a loved ones heart, help us never tread.
May our hearts and hands forever fuse
to His, and for eternity use,
each member of our being to heal
God’s family with true love and zeal.

THE BIRTH OF THE LIGHT

A virgin said yes many years ago
her heart was pure as the driven snow,
yes to the Father from up on high
who said that a Saviour, soon would be nigh.

In an instant she was a mother-to-be
the greatest mother in history,
in her womb she held the purest creation
who would be the Redeemer of every nation.

The child within her grew healthy and strong
she sang to Him many a gentle song,
she wove for Him His earthly dress
to have everything in readiness.

Joseph, he built this love child His cradle
whose head would lay down, with hair soft as sable,
but then one night they had to flee
to Bethlehem, and fulfill the prophesy.

So in a stable in the dark of night
with all the stars shining heavenly light,
the virgin gave birth, and the angels’ did sing
the Light was born, who is Christ the King.

SPIRIT FILLED

Sometimes I feel so full of love
that I think that I will burst,
the more I know my Saviour
the more for Him I thirst.

It sets my every fibre humming
my heart swells and beats so fast,
I’ll do all that’s in my power
to make these feelings last.

Holy Spirit give me the help
that I will need each day,
to ward off Satan’s evil grip
and keep all sin at bay.

I long to be Your perfect spouse
as pure as a little child,
to be worthy of Your heavenly home
to be tender, meek and mild.

THE LIVING WELL

Your Heart oh Blessed Jesus
is the well for all who thirst,
for inner peace and love and joy
for those who search and search.

They look for help in bottles
in needles, books and pills,
these are the guiles of Satan
who can only make them ill.

For after they come down to earth
from these castles in the air,
the pain and dreadful emptiness
they find are all still there.

So dip your cup into the well
that is always overflowing,
then the desert of your heart
will be full of life and growing.

YOUR GUIDING HAND

Clothe us with Your Mantle Lord
let Your smile be our sunshine,
whisper gentle words of love
ever so tender and kind.

Caress us as You did the children
when You walked upon the earth,
You always had the time for them
in their tears and in their mirth.

When we stumble and forget
to pray to You each day,
give us each a needed nudge
to the path that is Your way.

We are only human Lord
imperfect in our deeds,
Your ears are ever listening
to all our earthly needs.

So we ask You, don’t forget
as we all tend to do,
Your love is all that’s needed
to keep us fresh as morning dew.

I WANT TO SHARE

I want to share the beauty,
that my eyes do ever see,
in the glory of Your face
You have revealed to me.

I want to share the music,
that I hear in Your sweet voice.
A song that’s there for everyone,
if we but make the choice.

I want to share Your gentle touch,
when I receive You in my soul,
You caress me, gentle Jesus,
and then do I feel whole.

I want to share the peace, the joy,
the mercy that I feel,
as I walk along each day,
it’s too much to be concealed.

For these are all His gifts of love,
they are beyond compare,
they only grow in intensity,
they are truly meant to share.

THE LIVING VINE

He is the vine, we are the branches
His love is the root of all,
let us drink it in this sap of life
so we can grow straight and tall.

To Jesus who did open
the gates of heaven by His death,
He suffered, oh so very much
our sins He took in with each breath.

Just think how great His love was
to accept all pain and grief,
for people past and present
and those to come with no relief.

So let us drink in all the wine
that is given to each shoot,
of the living vine of God
and forever bear good fruit.
